The last 7 months...

So I decided to start a blog about my life in the Navy!
July 1, 2010 I signed up for the Navy and it became official. I had to get ready for boot camp. I left for boot camp October 25, 2010 to Great Lakes, Illinios. It was such a shock when i got to the O' Hare airport, where my life changed forever. It was so hard to transition into a sailor (so to speak). We got on a bus and drove about 45 min to the base. Wow I have never been more scared in my life. People yelling at you, asking if you were stupid, telling you to do something. It was crazy. We stayed up all night and all the next day checking in. "Wiz quizes", blood tests, vision, dental, haircuts, getting all the stuff we will need the next 7 weeks, and studying for up coming tests. I stayed up for 36 hours before I got to sleep that night. They came in the morning right at 0600. "Reveille, revellie." Well it was more like," GET UP! GET ON THE TOE LINE! 5,4,3,2,1!!!!" It was very hard to get out of bed and dressed in 10 min, but I got it to where I could be up and ready in 8 min. Bed made, dressed, did the morning head (bathroom) routine and on the toe line in 8 min. Super speedy! The days consisted of classroom learning, marching, inspections, sleeping and practicing for important things. We got to do Marlinespike, live fire, fire fighting, SAMT, gas chamber, battle stations, tests, and captians cup. ( My division won!!) We PT ( worked out) every day but Saturday, when we were practing for graduation. I was in a preforming division, in the choir. 905!! So December rolls around and its time for me to graduate. December 17, 2010. It was amazing! I leave for Pensacola, Florida for my A school, to learn about my job as an Airframer. An Airframer is a person who works on the structure and hydraulics on an aircraft. My baby is the F/A-18 Super Hornet!! What a sexy mulit-million dollar air craft. I pass my A school and make my way to C school in Lemmore, California. Its out in the middle of no where. I am in school to learn more about hydraulics for the Super Hornet! This is where i am currently at in my training.
I am attached to VFA-22. The Fighting Red Cocks!! I cant wait to start my job and get out to the mystical fleet. Joining the Navy was the BEST decision I have ever made. I cant wait to see what is in store for me!
